Deposit Policies

Purpose of a Deposit

We sell all of our animals on a first come first serve basis.  A majority of our customers choose to put down a deposit to guarantee availability.  Orders are filled in the order in which the deposits are received. Animals not reserved with a deposit are sold on a first come first serve basis.   We sometimes sell out more than a month in advance particularly in the spring and fall.  We do not keep a waiting list but you are welcome to inquire back if you do not want to commit to a deposit.

The purpose of a deposit is to guarantee that you are committed to buying an animal from us and that we are committed to reserving that animal for you. We will do our best make sure that we can provide the animal that we have promised and we will not promise animals that we cannot provide. Occasionally a young animal is injured or an animal takes longer to mature than anticipated. If we cannot meet our obligation we will offer you the choice of a refund or to wait for your animal.

Deposit Amount

The deposit for a hedgehog is $10.00 and for a sugar glider is $25.00.  The deposit is taken off the total amount due when the animal is received.

Hedgehogs.  We typically do not reserve a particular hedgehog baby but rather a choice from three to four babies.  We prefer for our customers to choose on personality first and color second.  There are times when individuals are looking for a particular color and we do our best to accommodate specific requests.  Unfortunately we are not able to provide pictures of individual animals since our availability changes almost daily.

Sugar Gliders.  Almost all of our gliders look very similar in color and therefore are most frequently reserved on availability and gender preference.  Each glider has his or her own personality and will react differently to each person.  It is impossible to predict how your glider will respond to you in the beginning.  We will work with you and your new pets and thoroughly explain the bonding process and procedures we found to work the best.

The purpose of a deposit is to commit to purchasing an animal and is therefore non-refundable if the buyer fails to follow through on their commitment.

The deposit will hold an animal for pick up at an agreed upon location and time.  The buyer is able to substitute animals if other animals are available.

All animals must be picked up at shows by 12:00pm. Animals not picked up at a show by this time are considered unwanted and will be available for purchase by other customers.

Millermeade Farms will make every effort possible to ensure that the animal will be at the agreed upon location at the appropriate time and date.  If the animal is unavailable, Millermeade Farms will notify the buyer that the animal is unavailable and the buyer will have the opportunity to wait until the next animal is available or to have their money returned.

If the buyer is unable to pick up the animal, the buyer must give 48 hours notice to Millermeade Farms at 419-485-3690.  Only then can the deposit be used to reserve another animal for a later pick-up date. The buyer will have six months to apply their deposit to another animal.

If the buyer cancels the pick up date a second time, the buyer loses privileges to reserve animals.

You can send a money order if you choose not to use a credit card online.  Money orders take a longer and are a little harder for us to track and but they are acceptable.
